What do you do in the EED?

I’m the Director of the Multidisciplinary Capstone program. I teach students in ENGR 5901/5902 and ENGR 5081 capstone courses. I partner with companies to bring real world projects to the college for students from engineering and non-engineering majors to work on over 2 semesters. In addition, I lead a committee that organizes the Engineering Design Showcase in April that showcases engineering capstone projects and fundamental of engineering honors nanotechnology cornerstone projects to the public.

What drew you to Ohio State and teaching?

Throughout my 12 years in industry, I was always drawn to learning new things and teaching others new ways of doing things. This interest led me to wanting to combine my industry experience and educating the next generation of engineering professionals. Ohio State gave me the opportunity to do just that.

Favorite thing about working in the EED?

I like working with people who have a vested interest in teaching and mentoring students. The EED allows me to grow professionally and impact the engineering profession through the education of students.

What's a fun fact about yourself?

During my industry years, I had the opportunity to travel globally experiencing different cultures in Japan, Malaysia, Mexico and France. These experiences have impacted my inclination to be inclusive with students and colleagues.
