The KEEN Partnership
KEEN stands for The Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network. Founded in 2005, KEEN is a nationwide partnership of more than 30 undergraduate engineering programs who are committed to the mission of graduating engineers with an entrepreneurial mindset so they can create personal, economic, and societal value through a lifetime of meaningful work. KEEN and its partners promote entrepreneurially minded learning (EML) through curriculum development, collaborative research, and nationwide conferences and events.
The Ohio State University became a KEEN partner in May 2017, creating an opportunity for the University to connect with other engineering programs in the Network, to leverage resources, to engage in collaborative projects, and to identify other synergies. Being a Network partner also allows Ohio State to advance current practices in undergraduate engineering education, to engage in engineering education scholarship, and to explore and assess EML among thousands of engineering students.
“It is an extraordinary honor for the Department of Engineering Education and The College of Engineering at The Ohio State University to be invited to join KEEN. We look forward to infusing an entrepreneurial mindset into the thousands of young engineers whom we teach each year. The opportunity to build connections with, and learn from, the other KEEN partners will prepare our students to create value and change the world they are entering."
