FEH Robot design teams will compete to see which team has designed the best robot to meet the design competition specifications. The scenario is:  "A group of workers for an engineering and research collaborative in a desolate Arctic area are updating an oil infrastructure project to meet increased demands. The project involves renovating and modifying the current subgrade structures, as well as sampling the surrounding area to determine if expansion of the current infrastructure is possible, safe, and practical.  A Base of Operations has been established and work has commenced.  Extreme weather is common in the area and frequently disables the main power system.  Although backup power is available to maintain living conditions inside the base, the loss of main power makes working conditions unacceptable."  The autonomous robots must perform several tasks including restoring the main power by erecting a utility pole, delivering supplies to a maintenance building, communicating the outside weather conditions to the Base, and restarting an oil pumping station.  The time limit for this exercise is two minutes.  The robots are limited in size to a 9" by 9" footprint.  The course that simulates the Base of Operations is approximately 12' by 12' in size.

The public is invited to attend the 21st Annual FEH Robot Competition at the OSU RPAC facility on Saturday, April 11th.  Doors open for the round robin tournament at 12:00 noon.  The single-elimination tournament of the competition will start at 4:00pm.  Admission is free.  Parking is available at the Neil Avenue Parking Garage or the Tuttle Park Place Parking Garage at an hourly rate.  The competition is sponsored by donations from industry partners and sponsors.
