Strategic Vision

The Department of Engineering Education at The Ohio State University will be an unparalleled hub of innovation in engineering education, integrating research and practice and shaping leaders for global impact.

Strategic Mission

Our Mission is to create and communicate approaches to engineering education that transform knowledge and enhance the technological workforce and society.

Shared Values

These are the shared values that define the EED:

  • Collaborative work
  • Student-centered approach
  • Diversity
  • Safe environment that allows for measured risk taking
  • Transparency
  • Excellence

Strategic Priorities

Priority 1: Establish EED as a hub of innovation and vibrant research initiatives.

EED at OSU will add to the remarkable scholarship, which already exists, by exploring untapped opportunities within Engineering Education through original thought and novel research initiatives.

Priority 2: Promote excellence in teaching and learning by establishing a research-to practice-to-research continuum.

EED will build on its solid reputation for providing innovative, excellent, and student- centered learning experiences to a globally diverse student population, enabled by world class, creative TT, Clinical, Associated Faculty and Staff. This will not only benefit EED but has the potential to create a model for other engineering disciplines.

Priority 3: Establish mutually beneficial collaborations for the EED within and external to The Ohio State University.

EED will continue to establish mutually beneficial partnerships with other engineering disciplines at OSU, engineering education departments and centers (national and global), industry, and communities (local, state, national global).
